Raquel Shutt created Wedding Savvy in 2002 to offer smart and savvy wedding consulting that was rooted in the best interest of the client.  Due to her hard work and client care, her firm grew in clientele and in consultants.  Raquel has carefully crafted a team of other talented, like-minded individuals featured on this website.

Raquel is a proud Cuban American who graduated from Frostburg State University and went on to earn her MBA from Loyola University of Maryland.  She created Wedding Savvy after serving as an event coordinator at a local hotel and saw a need for a savvier, more client focused business.  Over the past 16 years, Raquel has worked hard to create a company that offers outstanding service for the most important people ... Wedding Savvy clients!

Raquel is an active member of her community volunteering in her children's  schools, church, and her alma mater as well as financially supports The Little Sisters of the Poor Baltimore.  Raquel is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Marketing Department Board of Directors at Loyola University of Maryland.

Raquel resides in Annapolis with her husband and their three sons and in her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Raquel has had MANY memorable wedding moments, but one of the most unique is when she coordinated the Towson State Marching Band "marching" in right as the bride and groom said, "I do!"

The Bride and Groom were completely surprised by Dad's awesome idea of having the Towson State Band as a grand finale to his daughter's I do's!  Way to go, Dad!
