Hello! I’m Raquel Shutt, Owner and Founder of Wedding Savvy. I created Wedding Savvy in 2002 to offer professional, reliable & sophisticated event planning services to those in need of savvy assistance.  It has been my sincere pleasure to serve the area alongside our very talented team of accomplished women.

I am a proud Cuban American who earned my MBA from Loyola University of Maryland in 2004.  I created Wedding Savvy after serving as an event coordinator at an international hotel franchise and saw a need for a savvier, more client focused private event planning contact.  Over the past 17 years, I have had the privilege and pleasure of leading our company that has been recognized in the industry & community as one of the best in the nation.

At little bit more about me…

I enjoy color coded documents, spreadsheets, and I *might * be a little bit of a perfectionist. I love great, genuine design - design that fully expresses those who created it and moves the people who experience it.  That’s why I enjoy parties & weddings —they are just like that. An opportunity for hosts to express who they are and guests get to enjoy it. Lastly but most importantly, I am a people person - I love people!

I am an active member of my community volunteering in my children’s schools, our church, and my alma mater. As a company, Wedding Savvy financially supports The Little Sisters of the Poor Baltimore. I call Annapolis home with my husband and our three sons and when I have a rare weekend off, I like to play golf and spend time with my family.

I have had MANY memorable moments, but a favorite was custom creating a Mardi Gras float for our couple to exit on. Because…why not?! Their faces say it all - it was an amazing night.
